Hi, we're Mike and Jizzy - welcome to our backyard!

When we first moved in nearly 20 years ago, our property was a blank canvas of grass and a handful of non-native trees. Today, we have roughly 60 different fruit trees and shrubs, and seven veg beds... (can you ever have enough of those?).

We have made lots of mistakes over the years but these are the best learning opportunities. We approach the garden with a sense of play... when it gets serious, that’s when you lose the sense of fun and it becomes work. We don’t like work, but we play hard and it rewards us with many edible moments!  

 

We flow in sync with the seasons and eat accordingly. If it’s courgette season, everything’s courgettes! Courgette muffins, courgette cake, courgette patties; you name it, we make it. There’s something special about the cycle of life and leaving Mother Nature to decide the timing. And the anticipation is fun, too! There’s nothing quite like that first bite of a sun-warmed tomato that you’ve waited throughout the colder months to enjoy....
